Mack the Knife Ella in Berlin (Vinyl)
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing including bonus tracks. Ella Fitzgerald was already a star by 1960, with more than twenty years as a professional singer under her belt. On this set, Ella is accompanied by Paul Smith, Jim Hall, Wilfred Middlebrooks, and Gus Johnson. This LP contains the complete 1960 Berlin concert, including the two opening songs, absent from the original album. Also, versions of 'Love for Sale' and 'Just One of Those Things' were included on a Dutch 10 inch LP version of Ella in Berlin, but they don't belong there, as they were actually recorded at the Hollywood Bowl on August 15, 1956 and feature Ella with Paul Smith, guitarist Barney Kessel, bassist Joe Mondragon, and drummer Alvin Stoller. They have both been added at the end of our LP as bonus tracks. Wax Time.
