An American singer who became quite popular during the Disco era, Loleatta Holloway had a string of hits on the R&B charts and amassed 18 charted hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart including four #1's. Among Holloway's best known songs are "Hit and Run" and "Love Sensation," both of which have been sampled extensively. In 1991, Loleatta teamed up with studio outfit Triangle and rapper K-Street, releasing the one-off 12" "Set Me Free (Do That To Me)" on Jack Pot Records. After becoming an underground club sensation in the United States, the track came to the attention of The Future Sound Of London (Brain Dougans and Garry Cobain), who promptly remixed it, with their excellent take getting released in the UK on the Debut label. This special release features The Future Sound Of London Mix, a previously unreleased radio edit of that version, and the Power Mix from the original Jack Pot 12".
