But whatever, and whats\u003cbr\u003edone is done  The Heretics Bargain takes a nail gun to that\u003cbr\u003eideas coffin and buries it ALIVE, firmly reinforcing Rangda\u003cbr\u003eas a band with a shared intuition, instead of the sum of\u003cbr\u003ethree separate (though insanely great) parts. After years of\u003cbr\u003erecording and touring together, Bishop and Chasnys guitar\u003cbr\u003eplaying has mutated via some kind of lateral gene transfer of\u003cbr\u003etheir musical DNA, and the rhythms ridden by Rangda feel\u003cbr\u003emutually funded (though Corsanos beat-making is as finelined\u003cbr\u003eand rawly inspired as ever). With The Heretics Bargain,\u003cbr\u003eits harder to tell who wrote what, and Rangda (and you) is\u003cbr\u003ebetter off for it. The Heretics Bargain takes territories that Rangda explored\u003cbr\u003eon their first two albums  the abraded fury and free\u003cbr\u003eforms off False Flag and the serpentine Rang-dang-doodle\u003cbr\u003esongatechture from Formerly Extinct  and evolves them\u003cbr\u003efurther into a grand unified I-know-I-dont-know-what-it-is-\u003cbr\u003e(but-I-like-it) development in music. The Heretics Bargain is\u003cbr\u003ethe sound of Rangda  and, without getting all rock-opera\u003cbr\u003eon you (but a little AOR, to be sure), The Heretics Bargain\u003cbr\u003eis best taken as a whole, from the initial locked-down snare\/\u003cbr\u003eguitar strafing and tension-rattling choruses of To Melt The\u003cbr\u003eMoon to the side-long Mondays Are Free at the Hermetic\u003cbr\u003eMuseum. Lots of ground is covered, but its all part of the\u003cbr\u003esame earth. Until you fall off the edge in the end.\u003cbr\u003eFurther informing Rangdas unity are the recording-mixing-\u003cbr\u003emastering team of Jason Meagher and Patrick Klem,\u003cbr\u003eboth of whom worked on Formerly Extinct.
