The enormously popular 1989-2001 TV series gets updated in this fun- and sun-filled comedic actioner. Dwayne Johnson stars as Mitch Buchannon, a veteran lifeguard who clashes with disgraced athlete/new recruit Matt Brody (Zac Efron). But Buchannon and Brody will have to find a way to work together in order to do what lifeguards do best... bust up a drug smuggling ring.
