Italian-born Vittorio Mario Sparducci (Jeff Chandler) is better known to U.S. law enforcement as gangster Vic Smith. When Smith is caught and sent packing back to Italy, he falls for sultry widow Countess Christine di Lorenzi (Mrta Torn) and wastes no time resuming his criminal activities, becoming quickly mixed up in a nefarious black market operation.
