The Best of the Washington D.C. Sessions
In July of 1963, the Library of Congress was able to induce Mississippi John Hurt to come to the Coolidge Auditorium in DC and record dozens of songs as the crowning achievement of his legacy. Mississippi John Hurt sang with a warmth and reflective quality that made him sound like no other blues singer in the world, and these Library of Congress Recordings showcase his gospel-influenced style beautifully. PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE NATIONAL BLACK CHILD DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
