The only album by cult American psychedelic/garage rock group The Common People. In 1969, a little-known quintet from Baldwin Park, California caught the attention of the English radio DJ ""Lord"" Tim Hudson, then manager of The Seeds and Lollipop Shoppe. Impressed by their sound, Hudson secured a deal with Capitol Records and brought the band into the studio, enlisting legendary arranger David Axelrod along with top Los Angeles session musicians to shape their debut. Axelrod arranged the album's opening three tracks, while the band-singer/songwriter Joel ""Denny"" Robinett, his brother Jerrald on drums, keyboardist William Fausto, guitarist John Bartley III, and bassist Michael McCarthy-completed the rest of the LP. Though it went largely unnoticed upon release, it has since earned a lasting reputation as a true cult classic.
