Georgia native Buster Brown was an American blues and R&B singer who went largely unnoticed in the 1930's and 40's, played harmonica at local clubs and made a few recordings for the Library of Congress. He moved to New York in 1956 and in 1959, at almost fifty years of age, recorded the rustic blues "Fannie Mae," which rose to # 1 on the R&B chart in April 1960. Featured here is that classic hit paired with his remake of Louis Jordan's "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby," which became a hit later that same year. Newly remastered.
