In Defense of Empires - Paperback
by Deepak Lal (Author)
This provocative and timely monograph makes a bold case for rethinking empire, as economist Deepak Lal examines imperialism, American power, global peace, prosperity, and international relations, arguing that a benevolent American pax is essential to bringing the Islamic world into modernity, while challenging Wilsonian moralism and forcing readers to confront whether the United States is willing to embrace its imperial role.
This monograph suggests that the world needs an American pax to provide both global peace and prosperity.
