Katie Thiroux - Off Beat Music CD

Bassist/vocalist/composer Katie Thiroux displays her multiple talents on her latest recording, Off Beat. Her trio consists of piano prodigy Justin Kauflin, who along with Clark Terry was the subject of the award winning documentary "Keep On Keepin' On" and talented drummer Matt Witek. Ken Peplowski and Roger Neumann add their reed expertise to several of the tunes. Off Beat was also the title track on June Christy's 1960 release on Capitol. Other compositions include lesser heard tunes by Ray Brown (who Thiroux's bass stylings have been compared), Duke Ellington, Frank Loesser, Benny Carter and others.
