A Love Supreme Electric first announced itself to the world in 2020 with their first release, a two CD salvo of high-energy electric takes on John Coltrane's legendary works, A Love Supreme and Meditations. Now they are back with an equally charged follow-up in homage to the great, early, electric guitar innovator Sonny Sharrock! Sonny was doing something no guitarist had done before him: He was the first person to create Afro-American Free Jazz Guitar. Particularly inspired by his own hero, John Coltrane, Sonny invented ways of making the guitar produce both the terror and the beauty, and both the spiritual and the down & dirty of life in America that free jazz saxophonists had been expressing since the mid 1960s. There were such strong connections between Coltrane's music and Sonny's music, itseemed the natural thing to do for us to record Sonny's music in a more Coltrane-ized context.
