City Slicker, the first of a pair of concept EPs, was released in the fall of 2021 after multiple successful singles. On this project, Cameron Lew took his influence from Japanese City Pop which was popular in the late 70s and 80s. The main concept was based on this premise; The year is 1981, and Ginger Root is asked to make the soundtrack to the American adaptation to the fictitious Japanese film '????' (Machi No Yatsu). From the artist - "Crazy that this thing is now 5 years old. Arguably the EP that changed the course of Ginger Root. Conceptually, sonically, and career wise. We've included some special never released versions of all the songs of the B-Side of this record, as a thank you to you! YES YOU! The listener.
