LA/Salt Lake City based, Palestinian-American, indie-folk artist Sam Burton announces signing to Captured Tracks with his upcoming album “Fairweather Friend.” Inspired by classic greats like Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan, Burton builds on this tradition as “a genuinely striking songwriter” (MOJO) of today. Sonically, the album blends together Burton’s stripped-down guitars and melancholy voice creating a timeless sound. This year, he’ll be touring across the US with Aldous Harding and the EU/UK with Widowspeak, following past tours with artists like Weyes Blood and Drugdealer, and with headline touring in the near future. “Fairweather Friend” features production by Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Margo Price) in Topanga and Echo Park and is influenced by the environment of Los Angeles and Burton’s relationship to his own heart and integrity.
