After tripping through the psychedelic landscapes of 2023’s Echo Mountain High, Long Beach Dub Allstars return with Full Spectrum, an album that finds the band refocusing on the roots in reggae, rock, hip hop and soul that have defined them for more than 25 years.
As its title suggests, Full Spectrum covers a wide musical and emotional range. The record moves from the driving, feel good energy of “Lil Bit of Sunshine” and the vintage reggae rhythms of “Work So Hard” featuring Kyle McDonald from Slightly Stoopid to the socially conscious “Gunman” and the powerful closing track “Asking You” featuring H.R. from the legendary Bad Brains. Throughout the album, Long Beach Dub Allstars balance joy and escape with messages about perseverance, social awareness and the realities of the world around them.
