Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music presents a Lifeblud gig played on Sunday, November 7th 1971, at Bowes Lyon House, Stevenage, as support act to the band Stray. The gig was promoted by the London Colney-based Words agency run by promoter Barry Clarke. The source cassette was in the possession of drummer Charlie Chandler and was recorded on his Philips portable cassette recorder from a vantage point in the hall. The cassette bears the inscription 'Rob, Brian, Rog & Me, Sound - Scott, Recording - Dan', which confirms Lifeblud's line-up. Scott and Dan were roadie/luthier Gordon 'Scott' Adams and bassist friend Dan K. Brown, latterly of The Fixx. By this time, violinist Robin Williams' appearances with the band had become somewhat sporadic due to his orchestral and sessions commitments, and he was not present on this occasion. Bowes Lyon House (the word 'House' now replaced by 'Centre') had opened as a Youth and Community Centre in 1965, with a main hall big enough for live music and many well-known acts, including The Who on the cusp of stardom in June 1965, played there over the next three decades.
