With his knowledge and artistry, he had inspired an entire generation of musicians. Also in this year one of his students - Samuel Scheidt (15871654) - achieved public success as a composer by publishing Ludi musici, a collection of entertaining dance movements and canzonas. The recorder ensemble AS TIME GOES BY - A New Consort of Music from Vienna presents this music in a very exiting and insightful interpretation, which brings the nuances and details of these unknown compositions to light.
