SOL is the first solo work by the Luxembourgpercussionist, composer and vibraphonist PascalSchumacher.Already in his childhood, he chose the vibraphoneas an exotic and fascinating instrument, as it'sshiny plates and step-shaped tubes sound metallicand, at the same time, soft and ethereal whenstruck with a mallet.A trance-like state is created in the listener, whomSchumacher skillfully abducts from everyday lifethrough filigree played original compositions andcovers by Chilly Gonzales, Ryuichi Sakamoto,Jarvis Cocker, and Mike Oldfield.
