For Track 2, the four Danish musicians, laureates of the 2023 Geneva Competition, bring together Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 2, a Romantic masterpiece that holds a very personal place in the ensemble's story, Nielsen's String Quartet No. 2 in F minor, fierce and harmonically daring, and Missy Mazzoli's Harp and Altar, recorded here for the first time. An album born in the far North, between ice and light, that confirms the singular voice of a quartet already prize-winning and fully committed to it's own narrative.
