Two Loves, first issued as SCS 1024 (LP), originates from the same two days as the SteepleChase best seller Flight To Denmark - November 25 and December 2, 1973, at Copenhagen's Sound Track Studios, with Duke Jordan (p), Mads Vinding (b), Ed Thigpen (ds).In spite of his illustrious resume collaborating with Charlie Parker, Coleman Hawkins, Roy Eldrige, Stan Getz, Gene Ammons to mention a few through the late 40s - mid 60s, Jordan suffered a setback from the scene and had to make his living by driving a NYC cab for five years. Fortunately for the jazz world this hiatus came to an end when the Danish non-profit organization called Jazz Exchange invited him to Copenhagen in 1973. Jordan eventually made Denmark his home.
