In California, the Gestures were especially well-received, maybe because “Run, Run, Run” had the lightness, the hook, and infectious drive of the California surf and car band hits. Record World’s hot picks column called it a surf-like sound that should endear them to teens. The slice is a hard-driving ditty. Cash Box said the Gestures bow was a hard-rock- ing, Liverpool-sounding affair... powerhouse instrumental support on this haunting entry.
